Sourcing/Category Manager Smiths Medical Hranice
Duties and responsibilities:
To provide Indirect order placement and management, negotiate low to medium value agreements with indirect suppliers, and manage indirect categories as assigned.
Raises indirect orders into iProcurement for assigned business unit / sites. Verifies correct and sufficient data received on Requisition to enable correct Purchase Order to be raised.
May support as needed other functional areas and suppliers with the timely resolution of purchase order and invoice queries. May maintain orders and ensure credits are obtained where necessary, and out of date purchase orders are updated or closed.
Develop and maintain a qualified supply base while understanding technology trends and market influences. Maintains overall business ownership of specific categories to include managing, facilitating, and monitoring communications with suppliers and Smiths Medical employees.
Responsible for developing and integrating long-term procurement strategies for low to medium complexity indirect materials and services in collaboration with key internal customers. Responsible for contributing to multifunctional teams, as well as working independently to identify requirements, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements for assigned indirect commodities. Market knowledge may sometimes be required to achieve results in this role.
Develop and deploy cost reduction/profit improvement plans with suppliers that directly impact yearly economic performance to achieve business goals
University Degree preferred
5+ years of buyer experience required, f.e. in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering desired.
English fluent, Czech language is a big plus
Must be proficient in working with computer applications such as Excel and Word and should preferably have experience with data administration and Oracle or similar MRP systems
Cost management practices with history of performance against targets desired
Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategy and market drivers
Strategic industry management
Aptitude for technology
